The Passive Algo is the ready-made path on Liquid Edge: instead of building conditions and execution yourself in Strategy Studio, you enable a strategy that Liquid Edge runs for you. It's the fastest way to go from a connected exchange to an automated account.
What it is#
The Passive Algo deploys a pre-built Liquid Edge strategy on your connected account. It runs the same way any strategy does — watching the market, checking conditions, and placing orders — but you don't have to design it. You choose the sizing parameters; the engine handles the logic.
How to enable it#
- Connect an exchange (see Connecting an Exchange).
- Choose the passive algo and set your sizing parameters — how much of your account it can use and your risk limits.
- Start it in paper mode first to watch how it behaves, then move to small live size when you're comfortable. See Deploying Live vs Paper.
What it does and doesn't do#
- It executes automatically on your account, 24/7, within the sizing limits you set.
- It is non-custodial — it trades through your trade-only API key and never holds or withdraws funds.
- It is a tool, not a guarantee. Like any strategy it can lose; size conservatively and keep your risk controls in reach.
